A new commission with the task of looking at the personalisation of public services has been launched by the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (AVECO).

The Personalisation Commission will investigate:

·         The various reforms to personalise services

·         The third sector’s likely contribution

·         The implications for the sector

·         What could be done to support the sector to ‘seize the opportunities and address the challenges associated with personalisation’

The commission, to be chaired by Matthew Pike, is due to produce an interim report over the next six months, with a final report expected a year later.

The commission will talk at length to many of its 2,000 members. It will be holding two discussion ‘round-tables’ in Leeds on July 7, 2009 and in London on July 9.

Note: Voluntary and not-for-profit organisations make up the third sector. ACEVO ‘connects, develops and represents’ the third sector’s leaders. It has been providing support and advice for more than 20 years.
